Why Is This Important?
Metric Definition
This is not a comprehensive source for all businesses in the county and only includes businesses as part of the Bid Targeting System (BTS). The BTS is a no-cost, online software resource designed to support companies interested in government contracting identify and prioritize federal contracts. It matches businesses with top bidding opportunities and saves companies time and money as they pursue federal bids. The software provides company classifications such as minority, woman, and disabled veteran owned – with business ownership defined as having more than 50% of equity in a business.
Data source: Bid Targeting System (BTS), sponsored by the Michigan Defense Center and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC).
