Ensure County Workforce Reflects the People it Serves

As measured by the county government workforce diversity index

Why Is This Important?

Residents expect and deserve a county government staffed by highly motivated, trusted, and empathetic public servants who understand the challenges and expectations of people from diverse backgrounds. Through open and fair hiring practices, the county should work to ensure that its own workforce reflects the people it serves.

Metric Definition

The workforce diversity index is calculated as the ratio between minority representation in the county government workforce and minority representation in the Oakland County adult population (ages 20-64).
